Sydney FC have announced that Slovakian midfielder Karol Kisel is to join as one of the club’s overseas players.
The 32-year-old has signed a one-year deal, and will arrive in Sydney on 20 April after a ten-year spell in the Czech Republic which included periods at Slovan Liberec. A pacy winger, Kisel is well known to new Sky Blues manager Vitezslav Lavicka, who has coached him on two previous occasions.

Kisel (right) has made 23 appearances for his country at senior level, and his experience will boost Sydney as they try to bounce back from a disappointing 2008/09 A-League campaign.
Sydney CEO Stefan Kamasz said of the signing: “Karol is a highly regarded player and was a priority signing for Vitezslav Lavicka, who coached him at both Slovan Liberec and Sparta Prague.
“He has a wealth of experience and can play on either the left or right and will no-doubt prove an invaluable asset to the team.”
